Thousands of Donated Pairs

The sale features 10,000 pairs of shoes donated by renowned brands. Donors include Stuart Weitzman, Sam Edelman, Marc Fisher, and others. Over 450 volunteers are organizing the event. This massive collaboration shows how the fashion and footwear industries have united for the cause.

VIP Launch and Ribbon Cutting

Before the public sale began, two key events set the stage. On Monday, a VIP Hour of Powerand ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Chelsea Market. Leaders from fashion, footwear, and entertainment attended. Notable guests included Debra Messing, Constance Zimmer, and Lisa Newman, president of Bergdorf Goodman. Newman has led exceptional research efforts at Weill Cornell. Anne Fisher, wife of Nine West co-founder Jerome Fisher, was also present. She initiated the predecessor event, Shoes on Sale, with her daughter Jodi.

Research and Inequality

Sandi Mines, president of the Fashion Footwear Charity Foundation, highlighted how the industry community mobilized resources to support the cause. Lisa Newman explained why the raised funds are essential for her work. Her research focuses on racial and ethnic disparities in breast cancer treatment. Black women face higher mortality rates and are more prone to aggressive forms like triple-negative cancer.

Manolo Blahnik Boutique Event

On Tuesday, activities moved to the Manolo Blahnik boutique. Emily Rockefeller hosted a special shopping session and a VIP dinner. Fifteen percent of proceeds went directly to the cause. Attendees included Leandra Medine, Lilah Ramzi, and Stacy Bendet. Since 1994, Shoes for a Cure has raised over $65 million for breast cancer research, solidifying its impact in the fight against the disease.
