Hair growth calculator

Hair grows about 1.25 cm a month, but visible length grows more slowly because ends break and get trimmed. The calculation below subtracts the trims from the raw growth.

The growth rate is set by genetics and age; no product changes it meaningfully. What can change is how much of that growth becomes visible length — in other words, how much breaks off.

Frequently asked questions

Do frequent trims make hair grow faster?

No. Growth happens at the scalp, not at the tip. Trims only help by removing split ends that would otherwise break higher up.

Why does hair seem to stop at a certain length?

Each strand has its own growth phase, between two and six years. Maximum length is reached when strands finish that phase before growing longer.

Do supplements help?

Only if you have a real deficiency — iron, vitamin D, protein. Above normal levels, a supplement speeds up nothing.
