Nordstrom staged a memorable party at Marcel on September 10, 2026, to unveil its autumn campaign titled „Friends of Friends.” The gathering attracted a striking mix of fashion insiders—designers, stylists, photographers, brand directors and models—creating a blend of nostalgia and modernity.

The campaign, photographed by Ethan James Green and styled by Dara Allen, was presented as a physical envelope reminiscent of childhood catalogues and postcards. In an era dominated by digital media, this analog approach was praised as a tactile reconnection with fashion. Allen described it as „making you shrink and dream.” Dressed in a lime‑green sequined mini dress and distinctive glasses perched on her forehead, Allen lamented not bringing a sample to take home the postcard‑like pieces that captured the campaign’s essence.

Despite a subtle humidity that added weight

Notable guests included Christopher John Rogers, Jason Wu, Phillip Lim and Emily Adams Bode Aujla. They sampled umami‑flavored cake, sticky duck confit bites and glasses of Sancerre while reviewing the campaign materials. Luxury house leaders—Lelio Gavazza (CEO, Tom Ford), Matteo Mascazzini (CEO, Giorgio Armani), Sam Lobban (CEO, Thom Browne) and Tracy Piazza (President, Brandon Maxwell)—used the relaxed setting to exchange ideas ahead of the hectic fashion week. Models Jessica Joffe, Laura Ponte and Polina Isadora added elegance, moving through the room with effortless poise.

Despite a subtle humidity that added weight to the air, the atmosphere stayed light and open, allowing guests to enjoy the last warmth of summer before NYFW’s frenzy. At sunset, Yumi Shin, Executive Vice President of Global Brand Partnerships at Nordstrom, spoke enthusiastically. She explained that the campaign aims to capture a sense of community—friends and creators gathering to celebrate individual style, discovery and the new generation of talent shaping how we dress. „It’s wonderful to see how this nurtures and inspires us,” Shin said, adding that she was pleased to introduce Brooke Bobb, the newest team member who will play a key role in continuing this vision.

The campaign images showcased the latest creations from prestigious houses such as Bottega Veneta, Sacai, Balenciaga, Tom Ford, Khaite and Thom Browne. Each look was amplified by set design from Marcs Bird and artistic arrangement by Drake Carr. Attendees described the printed format, with its rich texture and design, as a „portable work of art” that evoked the emotion of a 1990s catalogue. Through this initiative, Nordstrom not only revived a tradition but reimagined it, emphasizing human connection, creativity and the value of carefully crafted objects in an increasingly virtual world.
