A Beauty Editor’s Essential Kit for Surviving New York Fashion Week

By Sophie Laurent •

The Essentials I Rely

Here are the essentials I couldn’t get through this season without, starting with a revitalizing skin lotion and ending with a lip stain that creates a blurring effect, plus a fragrance that’s recently earned me numerous compliments. Trust me, whenever you face a packed schedule, these products are the heroes you’ll want at your fingertips.

Among my indispensable items is the Embryolisse Radiant Eye Balm Stick, priced at $28. This product applies so effortlessly that I often use it in the car, even without a mirror. It layers perfectly under makeup, making it ideal for midday touch-ups. Another favorite is the Glow Recipe Vegan PDRN Tinted Soft Matte Lip Blur Balm, costing $22. I’ll be honest—I wore this raspberry blush shade every single day of Fashion Week. The blurring effect is incredibly flattering, and the color lasts all day.

For instant hydration, La Prairie Skin Caviar The Mist, available at $190, is a true skin refresher. It’s worth noting that La Prairie has a residential space this year at the flagship Bloomingdale’s store, but if you can’t make it uptown, this pocket-sized lotion is the closest thing to a mobile hydrating facial. For aromatherapy, I chose Sidia The Strike - Braless, priced at $120. I love its creamy scent—a blend of black pepper, leather, vanilla, and coconut—but I appreciate it even more for its elegant, jewelry-inspired vessel, which is extremely slim and practical for on-the-go use. Several people have already asked me where I obtained this treasure.

My Non-Negotiable Products

Hygiene is vital when moving quickly through New York City, so the Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer, at just $10, is a necessity. For hair, La Bonne Brosse Small Brush N03, costing $155, is the most stylish pocket-sized hairbrush available. I always keep it in my bag to style my hair in the back. Dior Le Baume Revitalizing Multi-Use Balm, priced at $63, is one of my all-time favorite hand creams. I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat it: it makes my hands feel as soft as a cashmere shirt.

The ANFISA Skin Reflect Rotational Compact Mirror, at $35, is a sleek, silver compact mirror that deserves all the attention. Reapplying my lip product combination has never felt this cool. Finally, RŌZ Mini Milk Hair Serum, priced at $29, is my go-to solution for preventing static hair. The bonus is that it smells wonderful, and the mini version is perfect for taming flyaways.
